Maya Howard, MA is a Psychology Intern at Primary Care Psychology Associates. She is currently completing the final year of her doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Indianapolis. Maya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ithaca College in New York and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
Maya has experience providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment with individuals across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including community mental health, private practice, and the correctional system. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic, interpersonal and psychodynamic evidence-based interventions.
When working with patients, Maya strives to recognize each patient’s individual concerns, needs, and goals. Maya maintains a welcoming and empathic stance during therapy, seeking to understand her patients and work with them to improve their overall well-being. Throughout therapy, Maya will collaborate with you in identifying how your strengths and values can be used to relieve presenting concerns and discomfort.
