Individual Therapy

Individual therapy—also known as psychotherapy, talk therapy, or counseling—is a collaborative process between therapist and client that aims to facilitate change and improve the quality of life.

The problems addressed can vary in terms of their causes, influences, triggers, and potential resolutions, and include, but are not limited to:

Anxiety
Depressed mood
Relationship difficulties
Pain Management
Parenting
Oppositional behaviors and rule-breaking
ADHD
Academic difficulties
Coping with the impact of a medical illness
Health and wellness behaviors
Behavioral weight management
Sexual identity
Developmental and ageing issues
Temper tantrums
Anger management
Communication difficulties
Phobias
Grief/Loss
OCD
Sleep problems
Coping with trauma/abuse/neglect

Psychotherapy involves the exploration of thoughts, feelings and behavior for the purpose of problem solving or achieving higher levels of functioning. Psychotherapy aims to increase the individual's sense of adjustment and well-being.

Typically, initial therapy sessions will last for 55 minutes, and follow up appointments last for 30-55 minutes depending on patient needs. We accept most insurance plans, and self-pay arrangements can be worked out as well. Coverage will be checked and relayed to the patient before services begin. As a general policy, cancellation REQUIRES a 24 hour notice, otherwise the patient or responsible party will be responsible for a $100 late cancellation fee.

Disclaimer: Number of therapy sessions allowed is determined by each individual insurance plan. Should services be denied by your plan, the insurance price allowance will be applied to the responsible party.
