Madeline (Maddie) Lenard, M.Ed. is a Behavioral Health Clinician in Pediatric Psychology at Primary Care Psychology Associates. She is completing her PhD in Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development at Boston University. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego and a Master’s in Counseling and Sport & Performance Psychology from Boston University. Maddie completed her Doctoral Internship at Primary Care Psychology Associates.
Maddie has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, intensive-outpatient, outpatient, community mental health, and school settings. She has experience in individual, group, and family-oriented treatment.
Maddie practices from a culturally sensitive biopsychosocial philosophy and believes that transparency, honesty, and empathy are the building blocks of a trusting therapeutic relationship. She employs evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She strives to integrate holistic approaches and uses creativity, fun, and humor to make evidence-based treatments engaging for children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as their families.
Maddie has specialized training using cognitive behavioral therapy with exposure-response prevention in the treatment of anxiety disorders, tics, and obsessive-compulsive disorder in children, adolescents, and young adults. Additionally, she has specialized training in sport and performance psychology working with athletes, musicians, and performers.
