Dr. Shauna Freedman (she/her) is the Director of Pediatric Behavioral Health and the Director of Training at Primary Care Psychology Associates. She is also one of the four co-owners of the practice
Dr. Freedman earned her master's and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a specialization in children and adolescents. She received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Pillars Community Health through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's Internship Leadership Consortium. She also completed a Certificate Program in Primary Care Behavioral Health through the University of Massachusetts Medical School's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
Dr. Freedman works with children, adolescents, and their families to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and medical concerns. She is passionate about helping young people better understand themselves, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the skills needed to navigate life's challenges. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, solution-focused, and strengths-based, while incorporating evidence-based approaches tailored to each child's unique needs and developmental level.
Dr. Freedman values collaboration with pediatricians, schools, and other providers to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care. She recognizes that children's emotional well-being is closely connected to their physical health, family relationships, academic experiences, and social development, and she works closely with families to support growth across all of these areas. Dr. Freedman believes that every child has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. She strives to create a supportive and engaging environment where children and teens feel understood, empowered, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive.
