Mikayla Pollard, Psy.D. (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Primary Care Psychology Associates, specializing in working with children, adolescents and their families. She completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School, and her doctoral internship in Pediatric Psychology at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Medicine & University of Maryland Medical System.

Dr. Pollard has extensive experience providing psychotherapy and neuropsychological assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults across a variety of clinical settings, including pediatric hospitals, academic medical centers, community mental health, and private practice. She has a strong foundation in working with youth who are neurodivergent, including those on the autism spectrum and with ADHD.

Dr. Pollard enjoys working closely with families and offers parent consultation to help reinforce progress beyond the therapy setting. She skillfully collaborates on interdisciplinary teams, including school-based teams, medical providers, and allied health professionals to promote coordinated and comprehensive care.

Dr. Pollard believes that the foundation of effective therapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. She prioritizes building rapport from the very first encounter with a client, creating a warm and collaborative space where clients and families feel understood and supported. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and systems-based principles, with a focus on understanding each client within the broader context of their family, community, and environment. Dr. Pollard is committed to tailoring treatment to each individual’s developmental stage, strengths, and goals, while remaining attuned to cultural identity and lived experience.
