Anna White, M.A. (she/her) is a doctoral Psychology Intern in Pediatric Psychology at Primary Care Psychology Associates specializing in working with children, adolescents and their families. She is in her sixth and final year of the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Northern Illinois University. She currently holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carroll College and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University.
Anna has extensive experience providing assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of clinical presentations. She has training in individual, family, and group therapy within the outpatient setting and is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive therapeutic space. Anna emphasizes the importance of culturally responsive and LGBTQ+ affirming care in a way that fosters authenticity and promotes the acceptance of each person’s unique identity. Her therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and genuine.
Anna’s areas of clinical focus include working with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders as well as providing neurodiversity-affirming care to individuals with autism and ADHD. Anna’s therapeutic approach is grounded within a cognitive behavioral framework and integrates techniques from third-wave cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has advanced training in Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder and exposure-based treatment for anxiety disorders (e.g., specific phobias, separation anxiety, selective mutism).
