Dr. Alicia Samp is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in child, adolescent and family psychotherapy. Dr. Samp earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco’s Center for Advancing Dyadic Care in Pediatrics, where she supported the dissemination of early childhood integrated behavioral health services within pediatric primary care across the state of California. Dr. Samp completed her doctoral internship in pediatric psychology at the University of California, Davis Children’s Hospital’s CAARE Center. She has extensive experience applying evidence-based treatment models involving both caregivers and children, including HealthySteps, Parent-Child-Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to wide variety of clinical presentations. Dr. Samp also received specialized training in the diagnosis and behavioral management of neurodevelopmental conditions at the Autism Center of Northern California.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Samp had a multinational career as a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and held several volunteer leadership roles in the nonprofit sector, during which she collaborated across disciplines to understand challenges and develop systemic improvements. Her diverse professional background helps her bring a curious, open-minded, and collaborative stance to her work with patients, their caregivers, and other members of their health care team.
