Elana Horowitz, M.A. is a Psychology Intern in Pediatric Psychology at Primary Care Psychology Associates
She is currently in the final year of her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School.
Elana has an extensive experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers and their families across various settings. Her training includes positions at a therapeutic day school, private practice, community mental health center. She also has a history of working with
individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a school setting. Elana’s clinical interests encompass trauma-related disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, emotional dysregulation, identity development, and interpersonal relationship concerns. Elana also specializes in providing affirming therapy for LGBTQIA+ youth.
In her therapeutic practice, Elana utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Elana frequently integrates art, bibliotherapy, and play therapy in her sessions, aiming to tailor treatment to each individual’s specific needs.
