Dr. Hayley Bemel is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Primary Care Psychology Associates, LLC. She specializes in working individually with adults and adolescents. She earned her doctorate from Adler University with a specialization in Primary Care and Behavioral Medicine. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at Primary Care Psychology Associates, LLC. She holds certificate as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (C.A.D.C.).
Dr. Bemel has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient substance abuse programs, community mental health centers, hospitals, and pain clinics. She is particularly interested in co-occurring mental health and medical conditions and working with individuals with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and adjusting to transitions in life.
Dr. Bemel embraces the opportunity to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds to target improved functioning and well-being.
Dr. Bemel conceptualizes each client through a multi-focused lens to combine cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and a biopsychosocial model as she believes this cultivates a strong therapeutic relationship, promotes positive change over time, and allows each client to embrace their identity. Viewing a diagnosis as a catalyst for healthy
behavioral change is also congruent with Dr. Bemel’s approach.
